Celine and Eugene came over to pass me the Florence and the Machines plus The XX tickets cause Celine wouldn’t be able to make it. As usual everyone comes over and ‘nua’s at my place, it’s got so many things in it but nothing really in it. Once I move, I really need to come up with some form of an entertainment system soon.
Met Nicholas, Stanley and Azahar, someone always has to be late when I’m holding the tickets. I always must say this line, “If you’re late I’m gonna hit your balls”. But of course it never ever works.
The XX was up first, it was so psychedelic although I hadn’t really listened to their album enough to remember the titles. The XX puts the X in XXX really. To me, it has gained sex album status of the year. With Madley Croft’s husky voice and Oliver Sim effortless mumbling somehow make a great combination altogether. I was astounded Jamie Smith tap drum machine drumming, makes me want to sell away my drums and get a drum machine altogether.
Florence looks incredibly tall, she makes us Asians midgets. She showered us with her love and was just oh so lovable. The sound of her voice sent butterflies about my tummy and just made me want to go “Aww”. She took a picture of the audience with a audience member's polaroid machine and gave him a drum stick that she was using during the concert as a souvenir. What I didn't like was that there was no transition to each song, they paused several times and didn't really talk. But, of course; she sounded exactly like the way she does on her album. I was blown away by her voice and her accent that went so well with her songs.
As corny as it sounds, I shared an intimate moment with her songs playing and it was deep, rich and emotional.
